Have you guys read the latest release of Tale of Felluah?
The last chapter of volume 2 is probably the best one to me so far. I have seen a lot of people complaining how confusing this series is but they just can't help reading it, which is exactly the same as me. But for this chapter, I am glad that I understand the meaning of the author and get a bit closer to the spirit of the series.
Why Orthez says"Did you sleep well, Arthur?" at the end?
It appears to be nonsense. But let's go back a little bit. We can see how angry Orthez is because Arthuz didn't come to her room as frequently as he had promised. Seems like she would beat him hard the next time they meet for daring to betray her. Then Arthur calls and shows her the bird's nest. Look at it, Orthez suddenly misses her home. She remembers how much she has sacrificed for this marriage.
Therefore, she should have been loved and treasured by her lord, but unfortunately, things are not what she expected. That's why she should have complained and grumbled when she sees Arthur. However, the moment she realises she came so far away, just because of one man, but it is Arthur, she just can't get angry at him. Orthez has fallen for Arthur so deeply that she can forgive him everything, despite how high her pride is and how nonchalant Arthur is towards her.
Kim Yeon Joo sensei's work is always confusing, her pace of story is slow and her way of expressing the story is unique. Not everyone likes it, including me. Seriously, I am not interested in Nabi- her famous work at all. The story is quite interesting yet very confusing. After a couple of voumes, I simply dropped it. Its super slow development just made me want to rip the book and skip to the last volume.
However, I really really like A Tale of Felluah, the same pace, the same atmosphere but they are the exact things I want for this type of story. At least, I know what the story is heading to. Every time I think I understand the characters and what the author wants to convey, I feel excited because it's very meaningful..., and sad.
So what do you think of the story so far? Do you like it? Hate it? Don't understand it? Tell me your opinion ^^
